Job summary

AltaSteel in Edmonton is seeking a safety-conscious Journeyperson Welder to join our Maintenance team. You will perform plant welding repairs, contribute to fabrication and rebuild projects, and support production with high-quality welding work.

Qualifications include Journeyman Alberta Welder or Red Seal Welder, and CWB SMAW certification. Expect 12-hour day/night rotations and overtime; a strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold Journeyman Alberta Welder or Red Seal Welder certification.
• CWB certified SMAW across all positions; provide proof upon offer.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Effective communication and a team-oriented attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding repairs across plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Support production areas with efficient and high-quality welding work.
• Complete fabrication and rebuild projects in the fab shop.
• Weld using SMAW and FCAW, primarily on mild steel; occasional stainless steel/aluminum.
• Ensure all work is safe and compliant with company policies and procedures.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to complete projects accurately.
