Job summary

Choose Richmond is seeking a skilled Journeyman Tradesperson specializing in concrete finishing, bricklaying, tile setting, rough carpentry, plastering, stuccoing and stone work for municipal buildings and facilities.

You will perform site preparation, form setting, installation and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways and related masonry tasks, with a strong focus on safety, quality and independent judgment.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by a completed trades apprenticeship and 5 years of related journeyman experience.
OR an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Red Seal Endorsement in the Concrete Finisher (Cement Mason) Trade.

Responsibilities

Install, replace and maintain sidewalks, curbs, gutters and residential driveways.
Excavate existing concrete and other materials such as landscaping to prepare subbase to the established elevation and compact requirements.
Remove, replace, and/or rehabilitate concrete, paving stones, tiles and other masonry related materials, where required.
Conduct site preparation and clean up.
Form, finish and install using materials such as paving stones, concrete and tile mediums.
Construct wooden or steel forms in support of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, residential driveway and other placing/finishing projects.
