Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Edmonton West is seeking a Journeyman Service Technician in Edmonton. The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair new, pre-owned and customer vehicles using diagnostic tools, while communicating with advisors to ensure timely completion of work orders.

As a key team member, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of vehicle systems, follow warranty procedures, and continually update your technical knowledge through

Qualifications

• Strong automotive background required.
• Brand-specific training is an asset.
• First Aid and WHMIS training are assets.
• Team oriented and customer-service focused.
• Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently per dealership standards.
• Inspect and test components using diagnostic tools and recording findings.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, A/C, etc.).
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional services and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Continue learning new technical information in formal training sessions.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as required.

As a key member of our team, theService Technicianbrings to life the ultimate service experience. The Service Technician performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses faulty operations and repairs new, pre-owned and customer vehicles. They will identify mechanical problems using computerized equipment and communicate effectively with advisors and management to complete work orders in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Inspect and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment on new, pre-owned, and customer vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as required.

• Hold a valid driver’s license with clean abstract
• Working knowledge of shop equipment
• Must be willing to submit a background check prior to employment
