Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Edmonton West is seeking an Automotive Sprinter Technician in Edmonton to perform maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair Sprinter vans for new, pre-owned, and customer vehicles.

The position runs Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional Saturdays. Starting wage is 38–40 CAD per hour plus a yearly retention bonus and a signing bonus. A strong safety culture and ongoing training are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Strong automotive background required.
• First Aid and WHMIS an asset.
• Team oriented and customer-service focused.
• Valid driver's license with clean abstract.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment.
• Willing to submit a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Inspect and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment on vehicles and record findings.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor regarding additional repairs and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Pursue ongoing training to stay current with technology.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures; perform other duties as required.

As a key member of our team, the Sprinter Technician brings to life the ultimate service experience. The Sprinter Service Technician performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses faulty operations and repairs new, pre-owned and customer vehicles. They will identify mechanical problems using computerized equipment and communicate effectively with advisors and management to complete work orders in a safe and timely manner.

Remuneration:

• Starting wage between $38-$40 per flat-rate hour + a yearly retention bonus (earning potential well over 100K)
• Signing Bonus

Shift we would require our candidate to work: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, as well as occasional Saturdays from 8:00am - 4:00pm.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
  
• Inspect and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment on new, pre-owned, and customer vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
  
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
  
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
  
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
  
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Strong Automotive Background
  
• First Aid and WHMIS an asset
• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
• Hold a valid driver’s license with clean abstract
• Working knowledge of shop equipment


• Must be willing to submit a background check prior to employment
