Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education is seeking a skilled Plumber for a 40 hour work week in Prince George. The role involves installing, altering and maintaining plumbing systems, domestic hot water, boilers, and fire sprinkler systems while coordinating with staff and contractors.

You will ensure compliance with bylaws and safety regulations, supervise or assist colleagues, and help with project estimates and material lists.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Apprenticeship Program and Interprovincial Trade Certificate as a Plumber.
  • Class B Gas Fitter certificate of qualification is required.
  • Valid Cross Connection Control Certification is required.
  • Minimum five years related journeyman experience.
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, alters and maintains plumbing systems, domestic hot water tanks, boiler, water and sanitary systems, equipment, devices and fixtures.
  • Maintains and repairs fire sprinkler systems.
  • Directs, advises or assists other employees as appropriate.
  • Assists in design, cost estimates and preparation of materials list for related projects, utilizing drawings, work sketches and specifications.
  • Conducts periodic testing as required to ensure proper operation of systems.
  • Reports parts and supplies inventory levels.
  • Reports work completed including time and materials used.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work environment.
  • Performs other maintenance related or emergent duties.
