Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking a Journeyman Parts Technician to support our Fort McKay operations. The role focuses on parts procurement, receiving, and inventory management in a fast-paced warehouse/shop environment.

You will lead shipping/receiving staff, coordinate part flow, and ensure compliance with BME policies while promoting safety and excellent service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Preference shall be given to journeyman status as a parts technician.
• 3 to 5 years experience as a parts technician in transportation.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license (minimum class 5) with a clean abstract.
• Strong computer skills.
• Forklift ticket is an asset.
• Knowledge of trucking industry.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, organization and customer service skills.
• CS TS/OSSA/BSO or CSO certification.
• Must pass pre-employment evaluation, D&A and fitness for duty screening.

Responsibilities

• Quote, purchase, receive and distribute parts/supplies as needed.
• Track and control shop costs and inventory flow.
• Act as buyer, negotiate with vendors for best price and availability.
• Support maintenance budget as directed by Manager.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining maintenance software.
