Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to service heavy-duty highway trucks from our Fort McKay shop. The role emphasizes field and shop repairs, with preference for candidates experienced with water, vac, high pressure and flusher units.

Located on reserve land in Fort McKay, BME offers long-term employment, company benefits, and a structured safety program. Wages reflect competitive hourly rates and earned overtime on schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician with at least 3 years of heavy truck experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electronic, suspension, and computer diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems in heavy trucks.
• Install new or replacement parts per manufacturer and truck specifications.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure performance and compliance with AB Transportation regulations.
• Complete repair documentation including work orders and risk assessments.
• Follow shop supervisor instructions and maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Attend daily tool box and safety meetings and follow safety procedures.
