Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. in Vernon, BC, seeks an Apprentice to fully qualified painter to join a fast-paced manufacturing team. The Painter will spray coatings on items, ensure high-quality finishes, and maintain safety and cleanliness on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include selecting paints, operating spray equipment, preparing surfaces, and reporting defects. Must have Red Seal and strong safety awareness; physical stamina is required.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification is required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting procedures.
• Ability to operate required painting equipment safely.
• Good verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to identify defects and report them.
• Commitment to quality and safety in painting tasks.
• Respect for diversity and conflict avoidance.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for painting processes.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.

Responsibilities

• Select paints or mix with automated equipment per formula.
• Prepare items by cleaning, stripping, and sanding as needed.
• Operate painting equipment and ensure even coatings.
• Apply paint with spray guns for large items and touch-ups on small items.
• Clean and maintain painting equipment and PPE.
• Mark and report defects discovered in production.
• Prepare work sites and manage materials/tools per project plans.
