Job summary

Aarc-West Industrial Coatings Inc. in New Westminster is seeking an Industrial Shop Painter for our BC facility just north of Annacis Island.

This full‑time role involves applying industrial coatings, preparing parts, and maintaining spray equipment. You must have a minimum of 2 years in an industrial paint shop, be able to mentor apprentices, operate paint guns, telescopic forklifts and overhead cranes, lift up to 50 lbs, and work overtime if needed.

Job Title: Industrial Shop Painter

Location: New Westminster

Aarc-West Industrial Coatings Inc., one of the leading industrial paint shops in BC, is looking for experienced, industrial painters for their New Westminster painting facility located just north of Annacis Island.

Duties Will Include:

• Material handling of incoming parts and material.
• Prepping parts for painting.
• Apply various types of industrial coatings through manual spraying on to structural steel tanks and piping including setting up paints, adjusting paint guns.
• Maintaining technical equipment and ensuring that they are in working order.
• General labour activities as required such as, but not limited to, hauling of material, tools, equipment, etc.)
• Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Aarc-West’s safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to identify hazards and safely dispose of chemical waste and maintain a clean safe work environment.
• Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision.
• Assist with other duties as required.

Requirements

• MUST BE RELIABLE.
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience painting in an industrial paint shop.
• Ability to mentor apprentices in a positive manner, knowledge of, and skilled in, the standard practices, methods, materials, and tools of the industrial paint trade.
• Ability to drive telescopic forklifts and run overhead cranes.
• Must have basic weldment understanding and be able to visually inspect welds for defects prior to painting.
• Must be able to work overtime or afternoon shifts as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
