Job summary

University of Victoria is seeking a journeyman painter to maintain and refresh campus facilities, including buildings, fixtures, parking areas, and interiors, using a range of techniques.

The successful candidate will mix colours, apply coatings, glaze windows and cabinets, and ensure safe operations while meeting project timelines. A valid BC driver’s license is required to perform duties across campus.

Qualifications

• Must have completed apprenticeship and hold current Painter's Qualification.
• Journeyman level skills and demonstrated proficiency in painter trades tasks.
• Able to work from ladders and staging using all tools of the trade.

Responsibilities

• Provide journeyman level painting skills for buildings, fixtures, and areas using various techniques.
• Mix colours, lacquers, varnishes, and stains; glaze windows and cabinets.
• Apply caulking, wall coverings, and floor coverings; maintain tools and ensure safety.
