Job summary

The Abbotsford School District is seeking a Trades—Journeyman Painter to join our Facilities team. This unionized, 12-month position involves painting interior and exterior district facilities and supporting a variety of technical tasks under limited supervision.

Based at 31759 King Road, hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Eligible for Extended Health & Dental Plan and Municipal Pension Plan contributions.

Qualifications

Grade 12 diploma with BC painting trades qualification.
Minimum 3 years of painting experience.
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
BC or Interprovincial Painting qualification required.

Responsibilities

Perform interior and exterior painting, including prep and application.
Troubleshoot painting issues and reference external contractors when needed.
Respond to service calls and provide guidance to other trades.
Prepare labour, materials and time estimates for painting tasks.
Participate in preventative maintenance and maintain reports.
Submit orders for parts and supplies as directed.
Ensure equipment and supplies are stored and maintained safely.
Maintain knowledge of district policies and safety procedures.
Undertake related duties as assigned.
