Job summary

SECURE is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Ticketed Millwright based in Edmonton, AB to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, you will work Monday to Friday 7am-4pm with overtime as needed.

This role requires a Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certification and 10 years of millwright experience; experience in the industrial/metal sector is a strong asset.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Millwright experience.
  • Able to work inside and outside year-round in all weather conditions.
  • Experience in the industrial/metal sector is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble machines and bolt them to foundations.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Provide technical support and suggest improvements.
  • Inspect and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Follow codes, blueprints and standards in all work.
  • Troubleshoot to maximize uptime and minimize breakdowns.
  • Read electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings to plan wiring layouts.
  • Install and maintain distribution and control equipment and related components.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems and related equipment.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and hands on Ticketed Millwright.

This position is based out of Edmonton, AB

The Team

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, this role is responsible to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Work Environment

The hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, overtime may be required, including half day Saturday’s if needed.

A Day in The Life
  • Assemble machines/equipment and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures using hand tools/power tools
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical machines and equipment
  • Provide technical support, adjust settings, confirm proper operation and make recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues within the facility.
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows applicable codes, blueprints, and standards.
  • Troubleshoot problems to maximize equipment uptime and minimize breakdowns.
  • read and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to determine wiring layouts,
  • Position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels and fuse enclosures,
  • Install, replace, maintain and repair electrical systems and components, generation sources and related equipment
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certification
  • Minimum of 10 years of Millwright experience
  • Must be able to work inside and outside year-round in all weather conditions
  • Previous experience working in the industrial/metal industry is considered a strong asset

Core Competencies

  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic systems
  • Understanding of automated systems, HMI, PLC's
  • Knowledge of conveyors, metal sorting equipment, air compressors, air dryers, etc.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to complete reports as required
