Job summary

SaskPower Estevan (BDPS) is seeking a qualified Industrial Instrument Technician to fabricate, install, commission and maintain electrical and control systems. The role involves troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance and field modifications in a safety-sensitive environment.

The successful candidate will interpret plans, diagnose malfunctions, supervise apprentices, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• This role requires reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical and control systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement plans, drawings and specs for installation and repair of equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and take corrective action.
• Participate in design and field modification of apparatus and equipment.
• Inspect, service and operate specialized equipment and tools.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and control systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and keep records.
• Ensure safety and environmental standards are followed.
• Supervise apprentices and staff as required.
