Job summary

Boardwalk is seeking an HVAC Technician to service and maintain residential and commercial units across Alberta. You will perform furnace maintenance and repairs, service HVAC controls, and install new equipment as required.

The permanent, full-time role offers guaranteed 40 hours per week with benefits including extended health, dental, RRSP matching, profit sharing, and on-demand pay options. A Journeyman HVAC certificate is preferred; Red Seal is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Certificate in HVAC; Red Seal is an asset.
• Experience on residential and commercial HVAC units and heat pumps.
• Able to work on units above 5 tons.
• 3–5 years residential/commercial experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper maintenance and service furnaces
• Repair/replace furnaces as required
• Exhaust fan repair and service
• New capital refrigeration installations
• Ensure proper maintenance and service on MUA, rooftop and refrigeration units
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on HVAC control systems
• Maintain proper records of inspections
• Complete all required paperwork and other tasks as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements:

Technical Requirements:

• Experience installing and doing service work and troubleshooting on heat pumps
• Previous experience doing inspections on heating and domestic hot water boilersWorking knowledge of English language both verbal and writtenFamiliarity with computer tablets is an asset

Non-Technical Requirements:

• Ability to spend up to eight hours walking, standing, climbing stairs, lifting
• Ability to maneuver up to 90kg with the proper equipment
• Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Ability to take responsibility for all actions and decisions and to follow through until a resolution is obtained
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to work independently (self-managed) and with other Associates in a team environment
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and enthusiasm
• Vehicle required
• Valid driver's license required
• On call and overtime required
• Specialized tools provided
