GFL Environmental Inc. in Alberta is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to repair and maintain a fleet of Hydrovac trucks, Water trucks, Highway Trucks and high-pressure pumps. You must bring your own hand tools and storage box, with a $500 tool allowance after three months.

The role emphasizes safety, diagnostic work, and accurate documentation, with opportunities to advance and contribute to a well-maintained, industry-leading fleet.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification is required.
• Experience with CVIP Motor Vehicle Inspection Program; CVIP certification preferred.
• Experience with major equipment brands (Cummins, Detroit, John Deere).
• Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract; 1A or 3A license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic work on a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment.
• Complete repairs on all mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, driveline and hydraulic systems.
• Participate in the GFL safety program and ensure compliance with all safety standards, policies and procedures.
• Ensure repaired equipment is properly tested for correct operation.
• Utilize documentation for all completed repairs.
• Install or fabricate aftermarket equipment and components as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with Shop Foreman, Lead Hand and Parts Coordinator.
• Other duties as required.
