XTL Transport Inc. is seeking a dynamic Truck & Trailer Technician to join our dedicated Airdrie team. We value fairness, safety, honesty, and collaboration as core principles guiding our work and interactions with customers.

You will diagnose and repair major and minor truck and trailer systems, conduct road tests, and perform scheduled maintenance while maintaining clear communication with supervisors and teammates. This role supports growth within a family-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman, Heavy Equipment or Trailer Technician required.
• CVIP certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract (Class 3).
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Familiarity with computers is an asset.
• Welding/fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair major and minor truck and trailer systems.
• Road-test vehicles and use diagnostics to identify faults.
• Inspect motors, engines, transmissions, axles and brakes.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and oil changes.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings.
• Collaborate with apprentices and maintain a safe workspace.

The Opportunity

XTL Transport Inc. is looking for a dynamic Truck & Trailer Technician to join our outstanding Airdrie team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and conduct all major and minor Truck & Trailer repairs.
• Inspect motors while in operation, road test motor vehicles and automotive system components using diagnostic testing devices to diagnose (computerized and manual).
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck or trailer systems.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes and lubrications.
• Effectively communicate with Supervisor on work performed including general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
• Inspect and test mechanical units such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine repairs or replacement of unit.
• Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems and work performed.
• Work closely with apprentices as required.
• Keep a clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties as required.

Who we are looking for

• Journeyman, Heavy Equipment or Trailer Technician.
• CVIP Certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract, minimum Class 3.
• Able to work independently or within a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with computers is considered an asset.
• An individual who is comfortable working outside in all four seasons.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to repair a wide variety of equipment.
• Speak, read, write, comprehend and take direction in English is a requirement.
• Able to complete a job task in timely manner and experience with various hand tools requiring physical strength and stamina.
• Welding or fabrication experience is preferred.
• Ability to be on call when necessary on a rotational schedule and the flexibility to work overtime when required.

Work Environment
