Job summary

Finning Canada in Prince George is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Mechanic to repair and maintain CAT components in a shop setting. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and service equipment for forestry, construction, mining and general line operations, while upholding Finning’s customer service commitments.

The role offers a 7x7 shift, with wages of $50.25–$55.84 per hour, industry-leading benefits, and employer-paid medical coverage.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Red Seal preferred).
• Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr).
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Experience with construction, forestry and mining equipment is an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial.
• Gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a shop environment.
• Interface with customers, products and sales support.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Provide support with reference to on-site safety requirements.
