Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Heavy Duty Field Mechanic to install, troubleshoot and maintain connectivity hardware/software for CAT mining equipment at customer sites in Fort McMurray, AB. This role requires a Journeyperson HET certification and strong field troubleshooting skills.

You will complete technical documentation, interact with customers and the Finning team, and work under a 14x14 rotation with a focus on safety and on-site support.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) certification required.
• Experience as a Heavy Duty mechanic on Caterpillar mining equipment is essential.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with recent driving abstract required.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot and maintain connectivity hardware/software.
• Complete technical documentation for on-site work.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs on CAT mining products.
• Interface with customers, products and sales support teams.
• Collaborate with supervisor on on-site tasks and safety compliance.
