Qualifications

• Valid class 5 (non-GDL) driver's license or higher.
• Clean driver's abstract approved by ABL's Insurance carrier.
• Physically fit; heavy lifting required.

Job description

You will be working along side our Red Seal Heavy Duty and our Red Seal Automotive Mechanic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers' repair manuals for work procedures.
• Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.
• Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment.
• Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
• Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with a machine to identify fault codes.
• Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel.
• Performing hands-on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles.
• Making repairs according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
• Initiative, diligence, and reliability.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Other duties as required:

• Knowledge of component R&R and electrical systems.
• Repair both small and large engines including Landscaping equipment
• Repairs a fleet of Excavators, Dozers, Loaders, Skid steers, and Gravel Trucks, and trailers.
• Work is generally on heavy equipment, however, repairs to a fleet of class 7-8 tractors, gravel trucks, and water trucks may be required.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
