Job summary

Golderado Contracting Corp is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician for project-based work in Canada. The role involves interpreting electrical code specifications, reading drawings, and performing testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment on industrial sites.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of Journeyman experience, hold a Journeyman Certification or equivalent, and possess safety certifications such as CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Certification or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years working as Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience.
  • Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to lift heavy parts, climb ladders.
  • CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 required.
  • Fall Protection & Rescue, Aerial Platform, Confined Spaces, Rigging/Hoisting and Hand Signals, H2S Alive and First Aid/CPR certification would be an asset.
  • Safety-conscious attitude and ability to work with others in a team.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Proficient English language skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret electrical code specifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.

Key Information:
  • Hours: Project dependent; Monday - Friday. Minimum 40 hours per week, with overtime necessary during the busy season (April-October)
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.
