Total Plumbing & Heating Ltd is seeking a Journeyman Commercial HVAC Technician to join our Edmonton team. This full-time role focuses on independent execution of commercial HVAC work, problem solving in the field, and contributing to team performance on projects across Edmonton and North Central Alberta.

Qualifications

• Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration certification is required.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems is essential.
• Ability to read blueprints, specs and technical drawings.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC systems, equipment and ducting.
• Test and Commission HVAC systems to ensure proper operation.
• Read blueprints, specifications and drawings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation problems in the field.
• Maintain documentation and coordinate with supervisors and contractors.
• Provide guidance to apprentices and support team development.

Job description

Total Plumbing & Heating is looking for a Journeyman Commercial HVAC Technician to join our Edmonton team.

This is a full-time, permanent position working on commercial HVAC projects throughout Edmonton and North Central Alberta. We're looking for an experienced Journeyman who can independently execute commercial HVAC work, solve problems in the field and contribute to the development and performance of the team.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
• Install HVAC equipment, components, ducting and related mechanical systems
• Test installed HVAC systems and equipment to ensure proper operation
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical drawings
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC system and installation issues
• Complete work in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, project specifications and Total standards
• Identify deficiencies, conflicts and potential project issues and communicate them proactively
• Follow and reinforce company safety procedures and applicable safety regulations
• Maintain accurate job and project documentation
• Coordinate effectively with supervisors, project managers, general contractors and other trades
• Maintain company tools, equipment and work areas
• Provide guidance and technical support to apprentices when required
• Help develop apprentices through instruction, feedback and strong field practices
• Represent Total Plumbing & Heating professionally on every job site
• Perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Skills & Qualifications

• Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic certification
• Commercial HVAC experience
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical drawings
• Proficient with applicable hand and power tools
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations and industry standards
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to independently plan and execute assigned work
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to identify and communicate project issues before they impact the work
• Ability to provide direction and support to apprentices
