Job summary

Total Plumbing & Heating Ltd in Edmonton is seeking a Commercial HVAC Apprentice to join our team. This full-time, permanent role involves working on commercial HVAC projects across Edmonton and North Central Alberta, under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.

We value apprentices who want to grow their trade, take pride in quality work and develop field experience. A registered HVAC/Refrigeration apprentice with at least 1 year of HVAC experience is preferred, with a commitment to safety

Qualifications

  • Registered HVAC/Refrigeration apprentice.
  • Minimum 1 year of HVAC experience.
  • Developing knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings for apprenticeship level.
  • Able to safely use applicable hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and apply feedback.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a project team.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
  • Install HVAC equipment, components, ducting and related mechanical systems under supervision.
  • Assist with testing installed HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints/specifications for apprenticeship level.
  • Develop troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in the field.
  • Complete assigned work in accordance with codes, regulations and Total standards.
  • Follow company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation as required.
  • Communicate progress, deficiencies and concerns to Journeyman or supervisor.
  • Work with Journeymen, supervisors, project managers and other trades.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas.
  • Continue development of trade knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Responsibilities
