Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to join our Edmonton-area team. The role focuses on site carpentry for timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, and formwork projects, ensuring compliance with construction codes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years framing/finishing experience, strong safety practices, and the ability to work in a multi-trade environment in a seasonal capacity. Local to Edmonton is preferred.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Carpenter with minimum 5 years framing/finishing.
• Must be able to work in a multi-trade environment.
• Physically fit with ability to work in varied positions for long periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry objects on site.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to determine materials and dimensions.
• Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
• Construct wood forms for concrete construction projects including building foundations.
• Construct wooden framing including walls and floors.
• Install roof systems, partitions, and stairs.
• Move materials on site and assist with clean-up.
• Maintain and clean tools/equipment.
• Follow drawings, specs, building codes, and supervisor instructions.
• Set priorities and maintain safe working conditions.

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is currently seeking a Journeyman Carpenters to join our diverse and dynamic team. The successful candidate will bring their skills and understanding of construction codes to oversee and work on day-to-day carpentry projects on site. Projects include but are not limited to timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, formwork & grade beams. This is a seasonal position, Monday through Saturday, Local to the Edmonton and area.

We seek an ideal candidate with extensive knowledge of the construction industry, particularly concerning concrete work, forming, and framing, as well as the construction of stairs, walls, and fences. Carpenters will undertake some or all of the following tasks:

• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to determine the materials and dimensions specified

• Construct wood forms for concrete construction projects including building foundations
• Construct wooden framing including walls and floors
• Install roof systems, partitions, and stairs
• Move material on the construction site, help clean-up work sites
• Maintain and clean tools/equipment
• Interpret and apply information found in drawings, specifications, building codes, and /or receive instructions from a supervisor
• The ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
• Maintain and ensure safe working conditions

Requirements

• Journeyman Carpenter with minimum 5 years framing/finishing
• Must be able to work in a multi-trade environment
• Physically fit with an ability to work, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs often
• Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and supervisors.
• Must have a commitment to safe work practices and be able to adhere to safety policies
• Valid driver's license with clean driving abstract and reliable transportation to job sites
• Tech savvy, comfortable using an iPhone or android (app) Nektar
