Job summary

Tacora Resources Inc. in Labrador West, NL, is seeking a Journeyperson Industrial Electrician to install, test and maintain industrial electrical systems in our mine operation.

This is not a fly-in, fly-out role and will require relocation if needed; you'll work a 7 days on / 7 days off, 12-hour rotating days and nights. Responsibilities include reading drawings, wiring, testing, calibration, preventive maintenance and supporting electrical projects.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment and related control systems.
• Experience in an industrial plant or mine setting is desirable.
• Fast-paced work environment requiring reliability and initiative.
• Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision.
• Excellent work ethic and attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layouts of industrial electrical installations.
• Install, examine, replace or repair wiring, receptacles, conduits, lighting fixtures and related components.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain and repair switchgear, transformers, meters, regulators and reactors.
• Maintain, repair and test motors, generators and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• May install and calibrate instrumentation and related devices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage,and resistance
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators,and reactors
• Maintain, repair, test,and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries,and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• Troubleshoot,maintainand repair industrial, electrical,and electronic control systems and other related devices
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
• May install,maintainand calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience inmaintaining, testing, troubleshooting,and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic control
• Experience working in an industrial plant or mine setting is desirable
• Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
