This position requires the confidence to quickly write clear, concise, and engaging copy and take on a wide range of fast-turnaround news reporting. There is also room to pursue some longer-form investigative journalism.

Your focus will be on the NWT's Dehcho region and the territory's attempts to lift itself out of a housing crisis, alongside civics reporting for many of the NWT's 33 communities.

You'll help to power a small newsroom that has built a reputation for robust, high-quality, and engaging journalism. Cabin Radio won the Canadian Association of Journalists' national Daily Excellence award in 2024, having been shortlisted for the same award a year earlier, and is again shortlisted in 2025's Online Media category.
