Job summary

Equilibrium Consulting Inc. in Vancouver is seeking an Intermediate Structural BIM Technician / Technologist to join our Digital Delivery team. You will develop structural BIM models and drawings and coordinate with the drafting group on North American projects.

Work on architecturally led, sustainable structures across North America, with opportunities to participate in internal committees and grow through collaboration, training, and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil/Structural Drafting or related field.
• Located in Vancouver or willing to relocate.
• Valid work status in Canada.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience.
• Proficiency with Revit, Forma (ACC), Navisworks, AutoCAD, MS O365, Teams and Sharepoint.
• Experience with timber, steel, concrete, and hybrid construction.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Interest or experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit API is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural BIM models and drawings for projects.
• Coordinate with drafting team and other disciplines.
• Perform structural analysis and develop designs from concept through construction.
• Communicate designs to the drafting group and coordinate BIM workflows.

EQUILIBRIUM is looking for an Intermediate Structural BIM Technician / Technologist to join our Digital Delivery team in Vancouver.

WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR

As a result of landing some exciting new projects, we are looking for a talented and ambitious Structural BIM Technician / Technologist to join our team at our Vancouver office.

WHAT YOU’LL GET UP TO

• Work on innovative, architecturally led and award-winning projects across North America and Internationally.
• Develop structural solutions that do more than just meet code… you will design structures that are strong, resilient, sustainable, and directly contribute to the architecture of the building.
• Perform structural analysis and develop designs from concept through construction with the support of the EQUILIBRIUM team.
• Communicate your designs to our drafting team and coordinate the development of structural BIM models and drawings.
• An opportunity to participate in internal committees (sustainability, technical standards, social, etc.) that help to foster your growth and keep EQUILIBRIUM on the leading edge.
• Exact responsibilities will be dependent on experience level.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil/Structural Drafting, Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Located in Vancouver or willing to relocate.
• Valid work status in Canada.
• 3-5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Revit, Forma (ACC), Navisworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft O365, Teams and Sharepoint. Familiarity with Bluebeam and studio sessions.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Working knowledge of timber, steel, concrete, and hybrid construction systems.
• Experience in independently owning models and small-to-medium project coordination
• Interest or experience in digital tools like Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit API, Addins like PyRevit would be an asset, but not essential.
