Job summary

Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join its global engineering team in Montreal. The role emphasizes fast-paced delivery, Java development, and ETL experience, collaborating with business stakeholders, developers, vendors, and cross-functional teams in an Agile framework.

You will design and maintain scalable microservices, write clean code, and participate in code reviews while advancing performance and reliability across our client projects in the financial services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong ETL experience and core Java expertise.
• Experience with React and Spring Framework.
• Strong knowledge of MVC, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Write, modify, integrate, and test robust Java code for web apps.
• Collaborate with team to integrate UI with server-side logic.
• Implement scalable microservices architectures.

Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic, global engineering team. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments and is passionate about technology solutions, have experience in ETL. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, external vendors, and other teams across geographically dispersed teams and contribute to ongoing and new initiatives within an Agile framework.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Montreal, QC is CAD$100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities

• Write, modify, integrate, and test robust and scalable software code for web applications using Java, react, Spring Framework, and Apache.
• Collaborate with other team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Implement and maintain microservices architectures that are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
• Optimize application performance, focusing on speed and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices for software development.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and QA engineers
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications, providing timely and effective resolutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering
• Very strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• 8+ years of experience in Java development
• Experience with ETL
• Core Java experience in developing complex applications
• Experience with React
• Very strong knowledge of software design principles: MVC, data structures, graph data, algorithms, design patterns, multithreading, caching, recursion
• Strong knowledge of core Java: class loading, garbage collection, Java collections API, Reflections API
• Java Streams and Functional Programming
• Strong knowledge of Non-Relational Databases and No-SQL (Mongo DB)
• Strong Knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL

Preferred, but not required

• Banking especially Capital markets domain
