Job Title: Janitor Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on janitor responsible for performing janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of our sports complex and surrounding grounds. Primary responsibilities include cleaning and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

1. Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
2. Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear, and safe, including:
1. Property & grounds cleanup
2. Grass cutting and edging
3. Seasonal snow and debris removal
3. Maintain checklists, records, and reports related to:
1. Change room cleanliness
2. Window cleanliness
3. Washroom and shower cleaning
4. Parking lot and property cleaning
4. Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing following established floor care procedures.
5. Assist with minor maintenance as required.
6. Assist in ice maintenance during peak periods, short staffing, or as needed.

Education and Knowledge Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent (asset).
2. Valid driver’s license (asset).
3. Building Service Worker Certificate (BC).
4. Previous experience as a commercial janitor (preferred).
5. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and call outs.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a team-oriented attitude.
