Job Posting: Janitor

Location: Remote Fly-in Camp, Nunavut

Rotation: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off

Background Checks: Drug & Alcohol screening and criminal record check will be conducted.


Position Overview:

Tamatta is recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Remote Camp Janitor for one of our esteemed clients. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the camp facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all staff.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct inventory of all cleaning supplies and paper products related to office, showers, and toilet facilities, reporting levels to the Lead Housekeeper or Camp Manager as assigned.
  2. Perform daily tasks in accordance with established safe work practices and procedures.
  3. Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
  4. Maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas.
  5. Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and complete daily logs and hazard assessments as required.
  6. Clean and sanitize all common or assigned toilet and shower facilities.
  7. Sweep and mop floors in toilet and shower facilities, as well as common areas and dining room as assigned.
  8. Administer the waste and recycling management program as assigned.
  9. Wash, dry, and replace bed linens as required or assigned.
  10. Take garbage to dumpsters or other receptacles and ensure waste receptacles are cleaned and sanitized daily.
  11. Fog rooms upon departure or as assigned.
  12. Clean common spaces at the work site, including the TV room, dining room, laundry room, and recreation room as assigned.
  13. Support the First Cook with kitchen cleaning as required.
  14. Assist with receiving groceries, unloading, and packing as assigned.
  15. Help with deep cleaning and sanitizing of industrial or commercial kitchen equipment as assigned, including preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment.
  16. Vacuum or polish floors and hallways as assigned.
  17. Polish and clean tables, chairs, and other common furniture or fixtures as assigned.
  18. Participate in Mock Medivac scenarios, if requested.
  19. Assist with kitchen cleaning duties as assigned by the First Cook or Executive Chef, including dishes and pots and pans as required.
  20. Perform all other duties related to the role.
