Team Lead, IT Security - Main Duties:
Leads teams in the planning, development, and support of IT security solutions and services.
Provides expert advice on the design, integration, and maintenance of IT security tools and practices.
Conducts analysis, prepares reports, and recommends improvements to security processes and standards.
Leads investigations of IT security incidents and guides risk mitigation efforts.
Represents the team in meetings to resolve technical issues and align on service requirements.
Oversees complex IT security projects, manages budgets, and leads multidisciplinary teams.
Team Leader, Infrastructure Operations - Main Duties:
Leads teams in the planning, development, and support of IT infrastructure and services.
Analyzes and supports infrastructure operations including cloud services, connectivity, asset management, and performance planning.
Provides expert advice on infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
Conducts cost-benefit analyses and recommends improvements to infrastructure processes and standards.
Represents the team in meetings to resolve technical issues and align service requirements.
Oversees complex infrastructure projects, manages budgets, and leads multidisciplinary teams.

The intent of this process is to fill two (2) positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis located in Borden, Ontario.
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

Essential qualifications are qualifications that you must meet in order to be considered for the position. This means that when you apply, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience listed below.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
ED1. Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
EX1. Experience in supporting IT software and hardware, troubleshooting and providing advice to clients.
EX2. Experience in gathering client requirements and developing, implementing or supporting IT solutions.
EX3. Experience in supporting the lifecycle of software or IT systems, including tasks such as application testing, deployment, configuration, or updates.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Asset qualifications are qualifications that may be required for the position. If you possess any of the qualifications listed below, please clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualification in your application.
Security:
AEX1. Experience in the design, implementation, or maintenance of IT security solutions, such as identity/access management, intrusion detection, or encryption tools.
AEX2. Experience conducting or supporting security incident investigations, risk assessments, or compliance audits.
Infrastructure:
AEX3. Experience planning, implementing, or maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, or enterprise applications, and managing environments at scale.
AEX4. Experience in performance monitoring, capacity planning, or technical support of infrastructure environments.
AEX5. Experience in releasing upgrades and patching application vulnerabilities based on changes to national policy/directives or security threats.
AEX6. Experience in coordination with Shared Services Canada (SSC), other DND organizations, private vendors, and clients to migrate or update applications.
All Positions:
AEX7. Experience in leading change management processes.
AEX8. Experience in budget management.
AEX9. Experience in providing technical advice and guidance to management and technical staff with regards to software solutions.
AEX10. Experience in Supervision.
