Job summary

Delta School District in Delta, BC is seeking a Trades - Computer/Electronics professional to maintain, repair, and install computer and electronics systems across the ITS department.

Reporting to the ITS Foreman - Maintenance, you will perform modifications and support network infrastructure; requires post-secondary technical diploma, CNE or related ticket, and minimum 5 years experience; a BC driver's license and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary technical diploma or certification in a recognized computer/electronics program equivalent to 2 years such as the Computer Engineering Technology program or equivalent combination of training.
  • Required to hold a Certified Network Engineer (CNE) or a related ticket/certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory; experience with VMWARE; extensive knowledge of networking, subnetting and private network hierarchy; understanding of Layer 3 switching, VLANs and routing.
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, IBM School Connect and VPN are assets.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
  • Valid BC Driver's license. Safe driving record.
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to use judgement when providing information.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes and methods.
  • Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits.
  • Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the ITS Foreman - Maintenance and works under the direction of the Foreman of Electronics & Computer Services. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration and installation tasks, including modifications. May perform minor elements of other trades.
