About Our Client

Our client is a growing North American energy solutions company providing innovative natural gas infrastructure and energy solutions to customers across a range of industries. The organization combines technical expertise, engineering capabilities, and responsive field support to deliver reliable solutions for complex energy requirements. With a focus on safety, reliability, innovation, and customer service, the company continues to expand its capabilities and support increasingly technology-driven operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who wants to take ownership of a broad range of technical responsibilities while working closely with both local employees and a larger corporate technology team. As the primary IT point of contact, the successful candidate will have a visible impact on the day-to-day employee experience while also contributing to systems administration, cybersecurity, technology projects, and process improvements. The role offers the opportunity to work beyond traditional desktop support and develop a well-rounded IT skill set in a growing business environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-User Support & Service Management: Provide remote and in-person technical support for computers, mobile devices, printers, conferencing equipment, software, and other workplace technology. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, network, and access issues. Install, configure, maintain, patch, and replace end-user hardware and software in accordance with established IT standards. Manage incidents and service requests through the approved IT service-management process, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate escalation. Deliver a responsive, customer-focused experience while maintaining clear communication with employees and stakeholders.
  • Systems Administration & Access Management: Manage or assist with user accounts, permissions, access requests, endpoint configurations, device compliance, and security controls within approved responsibilities. Support employee onboarding, offboarding, equipment changes, and technology refresh activities. Help maintain secure and reliable Microsoft-based systems and business applications. Identify and elevate policy, security, access, or process exceptions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Documentation & IT Operations: Maintain accurate records for users, equipment, applications, vendors, recurring issues, system configurations, and support procedures. Document technical changes, incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to support consistent service delivery. Maintain technology and asset information and contribute to the standardization of IT processes. Help ensure local IT operations, vendors, equipment, and support practices align with corporate policies, procedures, security requirements, and approved standards.
  • Projects, Security & Continuous Improvement: Support technology initiatives such as system rollouts, application deployments, office moves, audits, security improvements, and process standardization. Collaborate with infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, service desk, and business teams on projects and operational priorities. Contribute to endpoint management, cybersecurity, asset management, and policy-compliance initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance the employee technology experience. Provide on-call support when required for emergencies, critical incidents, or planned system maintenance.
  • Business & Vendor Coordination: Act as the primary technology liaison for the business, coordinating requests, incidents, vendors, and escalations as required. Work with internal IT teams and external vendors to address technical issues and support business priorities. Travel locally or regionally within Canada when in-person technology support or project assistance is required. Contribute to consistent, scalable, and well-documented technology practices as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: 2-4 years of experience in desktop support, service desk, systems administration, field support, or a similar IT role. Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is an asset. Experience providing both remote and hands-on technical support to end users. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, user accounts, access requests, hardware, and common business applications. Experience with ticketing, service requests, incident escalation, and technical documentation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft365 environments. Experience with user account and access management, endpoint configuration, hardware, software, and basic networking. Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Defender, MicrosoftAzure, or another endpoint-management platform is an asset. Experience with scripting and automation, including PowerShell, is an asset. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, asset management, and policy compliance. Experience supporting ERP, ETRM, financial, logistics, or other business-critical applications is an asset. Relevant certifications such as CompTIAA+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications are an asset. French-language capability is an asset where required by the assigned location or stakeholder group.
Key Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and determine when escalation is required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
  • A proactive and self-directed approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a broader IT team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation, security, confidentiality, and established IT procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service.
