Merit Services is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our client’s dynamic team in Brantford. As an IT Support Specialist, you will have a crucial responsibility in maintaining and optimizing our organization’s technology infrastructure, with the goal of enhancing user satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Offer technical support to staff members by assisting them with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related problems.
  • React swiftly and efficiently to service requests and incidents by providing assistance either through direct interaction, phone calls, or remote access, ensuring prompt resolution and reducing the duration of system failures.
  • Smartly install, set up, and uphold computer systems, software, and peripherals to guarantee top-notch performance and safety.
  • Provide assistance in the installation and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for various functions, including meetings, presentations, and events.
  • Work jointly with IT teams to identify and solve intricate technical issues, escalating problems as and when required.
  • Generate and manage documentation on support procedures, knowledge base articles, and frequently asked questions to enhance efficiency and self-help resources.
  • Help with overseeing user accounts, access controls, and permissions across multiple systems and applications.
  • Keep yourself informed about the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices to offer suggestions for ongoing improvement.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating and promptly following up to ensure customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A preference is given to individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the field of IT Support Specialist or a related position, offering technical support to individuals in need.
  • Highly proficient in computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking basics.
  • Knowledgeable about help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Practical knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs for enhancing productivity.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to identify and solve technical problems promptly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of skillfully explaining technical ideas to individuals without a technical background.
  • A priority on meeting customer needs and providing exceptional service is the central mindset guiding the delivery of top-tier offerings.
  • Having certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or ITIL will be advantageous.
