Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Director, Information Technology. The IT Specialist, Analytics Infrastructure plays a key role in supporting how Medexus uses data. This position focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, managing cloud-based data systems, and supporting reporting tools like Tableau. The specialist works with business stakeholders to ensure that data flows smoothly, is accurate, and is available for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Use APIs to collect data from external platforms, ensuring secure authentication, efficient data retrieval, proper error handling, and integration with existing data systems
2. Build and manage ELT/ETL data pipelines using structured and semi-structured data formats, including pharmaceutical EDI files like 852/867
3. Create and maintain scalable data warehouse solutions to store and organize business data
4. Act as a technical lead for integrating and transforming data to meet business needs
5. Support Tableau and similar business intelligence tools, improving performance, usability, and providing technical assistance to the business analytics teams
6. Configure data systems and ensure accuracy through mapping and validation steps
7. Automate and document repeatable processes and reusable data components to streamline and support ongoing analytics work
8. Collaborate with teams in operations, finance, supply chain, and sales to support shared goals
9. Monitor pipeline health, fix data flow issues, and optimize performance
10. Follow company standards for data security, quality, and compliance

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a similar field
2. At least 5 years of experience working on data pipelines, integration, or analytics infrastructure
3. Experience with the following systems or similar technologies:

• AWS services: RDS (PostgreSQL), Athena, Lambda, and related tools
• Apache NiFi and Rundeck for job scheduling and automation
• Programming languages: Java (Groovy), Python, JavaScript
• CRM and financial data systems
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com, Veeva, or NetSuite is a plus
• Comfortable working with modern business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills

Experience with pharmaceutical data formats such as EDI 852/867 is a plus

Skilled in using SQL queries and/or procedural languages to transform, load and query raw data sets

Skilled in working with data modeling techniques

Additional Information:

Compensation range: $80,000- $140,000
