Job description

Supporting the PAL Group of Companies, we are seeking an IT Security Analyst to join our team in St. John’s, NL.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor network traffic for security incidents and events.
2. Install and operate firewalls, encryption programs, and other security software.
3. Fix vulnerabilities.
4. Assist with information technology security, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, logging, web filtering, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc.
5. Enforce information security plans and policies, ensuring they meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.
6. Assist with the development of Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans.
7. Adhere to security compliance programs such as ISO27001.
8. Regular review of system events and audit logs to ensure policy compliance.
9. Conduct risk analysis of new information systems and make recommendations.
10. Provide awareness training to the workforce on security standards, policies, and best practices.
11. Conduct periodic network and vulnerability scans.
12. Conduct simulated cyber attacks on information systems, networks, and end-users to identify exploitable weaknesses.
13. Review configuration of existing systems periodically to ensure policy compliance.
14. Investigate security incidents and breaches.
15. Review all requested configuration changes to information systems.
16. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
2. At least 7 years of experience in IT Security administration.
3. Strong experience with networking systems: LAN, WAN, switches, routers, protocols, firewalls, VPN, wireless networks, security appliances, and network access security.
4. Experience with CrowdStrike antivirus and SPLUNK monitoring software.
5. Completion of Cisco and Microsoft certifications is an asset.
6. Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA) is an asset.
7. Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) is an asset.
8. Certified Network Defender (CND) is an asset.
