Job description

Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for an IT - Project Manager Niche for their Toronto, ON/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities:

1. Indirectly manage a project team consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs, and technology resources (where applicable).
2. Engage executive sponsors to ensure active participation in project initiatives.
3. Identify and manage required outcomes by engaging appropriate stakeholders.
4. Establish effective project oversight and governance bodies, engaging the correct levels to support project direction.
5. Communicate regularly with key stakeholders, including the Project Sponsor, Business Project Owner, Program Manager, and Portfolio Manager, about significant project changes.
6. Respond to inquiries and escalate concerns from stakeholders at all levels.
7. Provide advice and guidance on project management best practices to business partners and project teams.
8. Collaborate with partners to ensure resource allocation for successful project delivery.
9. Deliver project outcomes aligned with cost, timing, scope, and quality objectives.
10. Generate cost estimates and manage project finances, including risk considerations.
11. Identify and track project risks, developing mitigation plans.
12. Forecast and manage budgets, providing monthly financial reports in line with standards.
13. Apply project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, maintaining proper documentation.
14. Plan, coordinate, and supervise complex assignments.
15. Design and implement new methods and procedures.
16. Coordinate system development for major applications, defining requirements including data needs, analysis, and programming.
17. Develop and prioritize deliverables and requirements.
18. Define project phases, set deadlines, and manage staff.
19. Create project plans with milestones.
20. Coordinate meetings and interface with business units, staff, and service providers.
21. Oversee multiple projects and project managers, managing large and complex teams.
22. Set operational direction, work autonomously, and collaborate with other business heads.
23. Manage large-scale applications, programs, or projects across multiple product lines.
24. Ensure project delivery meets scope, cost, schedule, and quality targets.
25. Perform risk management activities and escalate issues when necessary.
26. Manage resources and budgets in collaboration with Project Managers.
27. Maintain client satisfaction through effective communication and issue resolution.
28. Work with and influence senior leaders and IT Managers.
29. Manage a team of 50-100 people.

Requirements:

1. Proven leadership skills and experience managing large, complex IT projects.
2. Experience with full project lifecycle development.
3. Proficiency with project methodology tools.
4. PMI or ITIL certification.
5. Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
6. 8-10 years of relevant experience.
