This is a hands-on project delivery role requiring strong budget management, field coordination, technical understanding, and stakeholder communication.
The role will involve:
This is not a traditional software or IT project management position. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in technology installation, construction, low-voltage systems, audiovisual, security, systems integration, or a similar field environment, and will be comfortable working directly with trades and site teams.
Bilingual French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingualism is a firm requirement for this position and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
Minimum 5 years of project management experience, ideally within one or more of the following environments:
Demonstrated experience working within a Waterfall project management environment.
Candidates must be comfortable operating in a Waterfall methodology; Agile-only project management experience will not be considered sufficient.
Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, including accountability for financial variance, cost control, and identifying potential overruns.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and technical drawings and identify discrepancies that could affect project delivery.
Experience acting as a primary point of contact for subcontractors, tradespeople, field technicians, or similar external project resources.
Valid driver's licence and personal vehicle required for regular travel to client and project sites.
Mileage and fuel expenses associated with site travel will be reimbursed.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively across clients, contractors, trades, internal departments, and senior management.
The successful Project Manager will operate at the intersection of technology, construction, systems integration, and field operations.
The environment may include:
The successful candidate should be comfortable working alongside electricians, security technicians, AV installers, field technicians, general contractors, and other trades while maintaining accountability for project delivery.
Depending on project requirements, deliverables may include:
The Project Manager will report to senior leadership and will work closely with internal and external project stakeholders.
The position will directly manage two Project Coordinators, who are more field-forward and are responsible for day-to-day client site activity and more frequent travel.
The Project Manager will primarily operate from the Ottawa-area office while attending project sites at key milestones and as required.
As the organization continues to grow, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to help shape and develop the project delivery team.
Base Salary: $65,000–$85,000 per year, negotiable for the right candidate.
Benefits include:
Primary Location: Orléans, ON / East End Ottawa.
Work Arrangement: Primarily in-office with regular project site visits.
Travel: Regular travel to client and project sites is required. The successful candidate must have their own reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence.
Mileage and fuel associated with approved site travel will be reimbursed.
Key Project Markets: Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara, and Vancouver, with Alberta representing an emerging market.
French: Required – written and verbal.
English: Required – written and verbal.
The successful candidate must be genuinely comfortable operating bilingually with clients, contractors, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
This position is best suited to a bilingual Project Manager with 5+ years of hands-on project delivery experience who understands the realities of technology installation and construction environments.
The ideal candidate will be more than an office-based project administrator. They will be comfortable walking a job site, reviewing drawings, coordinating trades, managing subcontractors, understanding project costs, resolving issues, and communicating directly with clients and contractors.
Candidates with backgrounds in technology integration, security systems, low-voltage, AV, nurse call, construction, or commercial/institutional installations are particularly well suited.
Additional company and project-specific information will be provided to qualified candidates during the recruitment process.
