• Pay Rate: $86.90/hour, depending on experience

Raise is currently hiring an IT Cyber Security Consultant - Identity Access Management on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The IAM Advisor specializing in Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and IAM Modernization to join our clients cybersecurity team. In this role as an IT Cyber Security Consultant, you will complete activities that reduce, mitigate, and document security risks to protect ’s critical information infrastructure.You will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients IAM Modernization program—driving strategy, requirements gathering, vendor evaluations, and platform selection for enterprise identity governance (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID Governance). You will collaborate with internal teams, business groups, and external stakeholders to shape robust security controls, governance frameworks, and identity lifecycle management workflows across complex hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• IAM Modernization & Strategy: Lead or support IGA strategy, vendor evaluations, requirements gathering, and platform selection initiatives for enterprise identity solutions (such as SailPoint, Saviynt, Entra ID Governance, or CyberArk).


• Governance & Lifecycle Management: Define and govern identity lifecycle management processes—including joiner, mover, leaver (JML) workflows, access requests, approvals, provisioning, role management, access certification, and segregation of duties (SoD).


• Architecture & Frameworks: Develop and maintain IAM architectures, standards, governance frameworks, policies, and operating models. Ensure seamless integration across hybrid identity architectures, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and cloud services.


• Risk Mitigation & Remediation: Identify potential cyber security risks, perform vulnerability assessments, determine remediation options, and validate baseline security configurations for operating systems, applications, and network infrastructure.


• Project Support & Compliance: Guide the execution of cybersecurity-related action items in IT projects, conduct compliance impact assessments, and support regulatory, audit, and compliance initiatives (including NERC CIP and BC FIPPA standards).


• Operational Resilience: Assist business groups in defining security requirements, design, testing, and implementation support while creating security operations documentation and collaborating with incident response teams.

Qualifications

• (7) years of working experience in Information Technology, with at least five (5) years dedicated to cyber security or equivalent, featuring a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) and IGA.


• Proven experience developing IAM architectures, standards, and operating models within large, complex enterprise organizations.


• Strong understanding of Zero Trust, least privilege, and identity-centric security principles.


• Technical Expertise & Security Technologies


• IAM / IGA Platforms: Deep hands‑on experience or architectural familiarity with SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID Governance, and CyberArk.


• Core Infrastructure: Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity integration patterns, log management, and encryption/strong authentication.


• Security Controls & Standards: Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001/2, NERC CIP, BC FIPPA, and COBIT.


• Soft Skills & Clearance


• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical IAM capabilities.


• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance for a Security Sensitive Position classification.


• Education and Certifications


• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.


• Preferred Certifications


• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)


• Certified in Risk Information Systems Control (CRISC)


• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)


• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)


• GIAC Certifications (GCIH, GPEN
