Job summary

Multimatic is seeking an IT/PC hardware technician in Ontario to configure and maintain PC hardware, support servers, printers, and network equipment, and assist with Windows server platforms.

The role focuses on hardware inventory, end-user onboarding/offboarding, and collaboration with vendors. Ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a related college/university program, has strong TCP/IP/WAN/LAN knowledge, and can work independently in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college diploma or university degree in computer systems and engineering technology, information systems support, or a related field.
  • Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and WAN/LAN technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Configuring and maintaining all PC hardware as per Multimatic Inc’s hardware specifications.
  • Assist in maintaining the physical network including servers, printers, plotters, and switches.
  • Assist in maintaining all Windows server platforms as required.
  • Provide technical support for all desktop operating systems.
  • Install and maintain PC application programs as per Multimatic Inc’s software specifications.
  • Support all telephone systems.
  • Help ensure hardware inventory is accurate.
  • Ensure label printers and scanner guns are functioning and maintained.
  • On-board and off-board users; communicate with vendors and managers.
  • Follow OHSA safety rules and participate in Kaizen/GEAR activities.
  • Adhere to ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.

Job description

  • Configuring and maintaining all PC hardware as per Multimatic Inc’s hardware specifications.
  • Assist in maintaining the physical network as required. This includes servers, printers, plotters, and switches, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining all Windows server platforms as required.
  • Provide technical support for all desktop operating systems.
  • Install and maintain PC application programs as per Multimatic Inc’s software specifications.
  • Support all telephone systems.
  • Assist in keeping an accurate hardware inventory of all computer equipment.
  • Help ensure all label printers and scanner guns are functioning and provide maintenance when needed.
  • Configuring and maintaining PC hardware as per INC’s hardware specifications.
  • Support a near zero downtime environment.
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
  • Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
  • Work in compliance and conform to Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
  • Responsible for on-boarding and Off-boarding users
  • Ability to communicate with 3rd party vendors and managers
  • Basic Requirements:

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be: $17.60 - $25.48
