Join to apply for the IT Business Data Lead Analyst role at Citi.

The individual will work in the FRMT (Financial Resource Management Technology) Data Services team within Citi’s Treasury Global Function. The Data Services team is responsible for Data Steward activities involving liaising with Data owners, Business Treasury, and Chief Data Office teams, providing business support, and ensuring proper governance of Citi Data Governance Policy & Standards. This group plays a critical role in strategic projects supporting regulatory feedback and shaping Citi’s data infrastructure. We are seeking a Data Lead Analyst with 8-10 years of experience in data management.

The Data Lead Analyst is responsible for leading activities to support the implementation of the Data Governance Policy/Data Risk and Control framework. This role is crucial in defining the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, Data Risk and Control Framework, and Data Taxonomy. The candidate should be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have program management expertise.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement, enforce, and improve the data governance strategy, framework, and procedures.
  • Support data strategy and drive data management, Data quality rules management, lineage, and taxonomy across all of FRMT.
  • Define, monitor, and enforce KPIs related to compliance with the data governance policy.
  • Liaise between the Enterprise Data Office, Business/Function aligned Data Offices, and other key partners to advance the Data Transformation agenda.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners to ensure continuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance of data quality.
  • Lead facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of complex problems within/across programs and with senior stakeholders.
  • Develop content for governance forums.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with rules, laws, and regulations, and escalating issues transparently.
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years experience in analyzing and managing data.
  • At least 5+ years in banking, financial services, Capital Markets, IT, and data governance.
  • 5+ years of Data Analysis and Investigation.
  • 5+ years of SQL proficiency.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of SQL syntax across various database engines (SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, Teradata).
  • Experience in creating data flow diagrams and documentation for data processes.
  • Experience in data governance/strategy and data operating models.
  • Effective collaboration and partnership skills.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to optimize work processes and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of systems and management processes.
  • Proficiency in presentation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with large data volumes and logical data structures.
  • Experience with global teams and data integration solutions.
  • Ownership and initiative in tasks.
