Job description

The individual will work in the FRMT (Financial Resource Management Technology) Data Services team within Citi’s Treasury Global Function. The Data Services team is responsible for Data Steward activities that involve liaising with Data owners, Business Treasury and Chief Data Office teams providing business support and ensure proper governance of Citi Data Governance Policy & Standards. This group is a critical contributor in strategic projects supporting regulatory feedback and influence Citi’s data infrastructure. To this end, we are seeking Data Lead Analyst with 8-10 years of experience in data management function

The Data Lead Analyst is responsible for leading activities to support implementation of the Data Governance Policy/Data Risk and Control framework and plays a critical role in leading activities that contribute to the definition of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Taxonomy. An ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, along with strong interpersonal skills and program management expertise are required.

Responsibilities:

Implement, enforce and improve the data governance strategy, framework and procedures.

Support data strategy and drive data management, Data quality rules management, , lineage, and taxonomy across all of FRMT.

Define, monitor and enforce KPIs related to compliance with the data governance policy.

Liaise between the Enterprise Data Office, Business/Function aligned Data Offices and other key partners in Business/Functions to progress the Data Transformation agenda.

Establish a level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with important partners to ensure continuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance of data quality.

Lead the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross-functional complex problems within / across programs and with senior stakeholders.

Develop content for relevant governance forums.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

6+ years experience in analyzing and managing data

At least 5+ years of experience in banking and financial services industry, Capital Markets , information technology, and data governance.

5+ years of Data Analysis/ Data Investigation

5+ years of SQL

High proficiency in MS Excel for Data analysis

Demonstrated deep understanding of SQL syntax using various database engines (i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, Terradata)

Proficient in the creation of data flow diagrams and documentation for data integration processes

Experience in data governance/strategy, data operating model practices is a must.

Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.

Strong relevant experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred.

Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.

Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the “big picture” while paying close attention to detail.

Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.

Proficiency in presentation tools is required

Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) issues in a clear and timely manner to build trusting partnership a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders.

Self-motivated, highly-focused, detail-oriented as well as a team player with high energy levels and the desire to learn and progress within the company.

Knowledge of business analysis procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas

Proven analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills

Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Proven ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques

Proven relationship management skills to partner and influence across organizational lines

Comfortable working with large data volumes and be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques

Conduct data analysis to locate and resolve any possible issues or implement new data operation tasks

Work effectively with global teams to leverage existing systems and solutions

Demonstrate ownership and initiative taking

Develop solutions to serve function of data integration, data consumption and data generation

Work on BAU development requests as and when they arise and provide level 3 production support
