Job summary

emergiTEL is seeking an Audit Manager I, IT Audit in Toronto, ON / Mount Laurel, NJ to lead technology-focused audits within the Banking and Financial Services sector. The role is permanent and requires strong IT risk assessment, control testing, and stakeholder engagement.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in IT audit, familiarity with COBIT/NIST frameworks, and professional certifications such as CISA or CISSP are preferred. Location is primarily in Canada with U.S. collaboration possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 5+ years of IT audit, technology risk, IT controls, or related experience.
• Experience conducting IT audits, control assessments, walkthroughs, and testing.
• Experience preparing audit documentation, identifying control deficiencies, and communicating findings.
• Strong understanding of risk-based audit methodologies and internal control frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support end-to-end IT audits across technology platforms, applications, infrastructure, and enterprise systems.
• Conduct walkthroughs, assess technology risks, and perform detailed control testing per audit methodologies.
• Support audit planning, risk assessments, and development of risk-based audit programs.
• Evaluate IT General Controls (ITGCs) including access, change, and operations.
• Identify deficiencies, root causes, and develop actionable recommendations.
• Prepare audit workpapers, test scripts, evidence, and findings.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and track remediation.
