Job summary

PwC Canada is seeking a Summer Intern in Risk Services IT Audit to gain hands-on experience evaluating IT environments, controls, cybersecurity measures, data integrity, and audit support for diverse clients. You’ll work under experienced professionals with exposure to AI and digital tools, in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

The role targets accounting students pursuing CPA designation, with early May to mid-August 2027 program dates.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in post-secondary education pursuing CPA prerequisite courses.
• Bilingual French and English (oral and written).
• Motivated to learn about technologies, IT practices and standards, infrastructure-related risks and controls.
• Motivated to learn about analysis of IT risks and internal controls, including control objectives and design of procedures.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Enable clients across industries to improve risk management and internal control capabilities.
• Provide services that enhance internal audit, compliance, and risk management functions.
• Cover governance, process reviews, resource optimization, and compliance audits.
• Deliver risk advisory services across financial, operational, compliance, strategic and IT risks.
• Conduct audit work efficiently within timelines and budgets.
• Maintain communication with lead advisor or director on assignments.
• Document audit evidence clearly and validate its relevance and quality.
• Analyze impact of control deficiencies on financial data and audit strategy.
• Build relationships within the department and with clients.
• Monitor IT trends such as remote access, authentication, threats, penetration testing, and vulnerabilities.
• Identify business development opportunities to offer services from other departments.
