Job summary

Graham in Calgary is actively seeking an IT Application Architect to define and govern our enterprise technology architecture strategy. The role reports to the Architecture leadership and drives roadmaps, standards, and governance for scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across the Corporate Services division.

The incumbent advises business and technology leaders, shaping architecture roadmaps and governance practices, while ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as stated or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of progressive IT solution delivery experience.
• Certifications in TOGAF, Azure, and AWS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern technology architecture strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Provide architectural oversight across programs, projects, and digital transformations.
• Review designs for alignment with enterprise standards and governance.
• Identify opportunities and risks from emerging technologies and trends.
• Translate business goals into technology capabilities and roadmaps.

Graham is actively recruiting for an IT Application Architect supporting the Corporate Services division. Reporting to the Director - Architecture and IT Implementation Director, the incumbent defines and governs the organization’s technology architecture strategy to ensure technology investments align with business priorities, strengthen operational performance, and support future growth.

The role advises business and technology leaders; develops architecture roadmaps, standards, and governance practices; and provides leadership across business architecture, applications, and integrations to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise goals.

This role is based in our Calgary Corporate Office, with hybrid work schedule

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture strategies, principles, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Create multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and corporate strategy.
• Provide architectural oversight across programs, projects, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Review and approve solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities, risks, and innovation.
• Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to translate business goals into technology capabilities and roadmaps.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish architecture best practices, mentor technical teams, and drive continuous improvement across the organization

The Right Tools for the Job

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience
• Experience:
  • 10 years of progressive experience delivering IT solutions
• Certifications (preferred):
  • TOGAF Certified, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect
• Skills:
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HCM)
