Job summary

Tacten Industrial Inc is seeking IRATA certified journeyperson pipefitters to support a turnkey turnaround project at the LNG site in Kitimat, BC. The role offers a stabilized 6/1 rotation with 12 hour shifts and paid travel from major Canadian hubs.

Accommodations are provided by the company, and LOA is offered as needed for the duration of the project. You will join a safety-focused team performing piping installations, alignments, testing, and maintenance activities in a high-stakes

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter certification is required.
  • IRATA certification is required.
  • Experience with turnarounds, shutdowns, or industrial construction is an asset.
  • Mechanical background with hydraulic system knowledge is preferred.
  • Client and BC provincial safety certifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, dismantle, and modify piping systems during the turnaround.
  • Read drawings, blueprints, isometric drawings and specs to determine layouts.
  • Perform pipe fitting, alignment, fabrication and installation per project specs.
  • Inspect piping for leaks and deficiencies and perform repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct pressure testing and related inspections to verify installation quality.
  • Collaborate with other trades to meet turnaround schedules with safety and quality focus.

Position Summary

Tacten is seeking IRATA Certified Journeyperson Pipefitters to join our team for an upcoming Turnaround project at the LNG site in Kitimat, BC!

This is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing team supporting critical turnaround work at one of BC's leading industrial sites. You'll work alongside experienced trades and rope access professionals in a dynamic, safety-focused environment, utilizing industry-leading rope access technology to support the successful execution of the project.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: October 5, 2026
  • Site/Location: LNG - Kitimat, BC.
  • Duration: ~3 weeks
  • Shift/Hours: 6/1 rotation, 12 hours per shift (Day Shift -or- Night Shift)
  • Hourly Rate $58.00/hr. depending on certifications and experience
  • Travel: Flights provided from major Canadian city hubs
  • Accommodations Company-provided local accommodations, plus LOA
Responsibilities

As part of the Kitimat Turnaround team, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient execution of critical maintenance and piping work throughout the project. Responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, assembling, dismantling, and modifying piping systems as required during the turnaround.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications to determine piping layouts, dimensions, and installation requirements.
  • Performing pipe fitting, alignment, fabrication, and installation in accordance with project specifications and site requirements.
  • Inspecting piping systems, identifying leaks or deficiencies, and completing necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Conducting pressure testing and other required inspections to verify the integrity and quality of piping installations.
  • Working collaboratively with other trades and project teams to meet turnaround schedules while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Requirements
  • Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification required
  • Valid IRATA certification is required.
  • Previous turnaround, shutdown, maintenance, or industrial construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Mechanical background and solid understanding of Hydraulic system pumps etc.
  • Current safety certifications as required by client and provincial standards in BC

Additional Assets

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Previous experience working in industrial or skilled trades environments.
  • Experience working on LNG or other large-scale industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with LNG operations and site requirements.
  • Previous experience supporting major turnarounds or shutdown projects.
  • Background or experience working alongside mechanical trades.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
