Job summary

The Salvation Army in Ottawa, Ontario, seeks an Infection Prevention and Control Lead to ensure IPAC measures for residents, staff and families. You will conduct surveillance, audits IPAC practices, and ensure MOHLTC processes are implemented and monitored, with flexibility for days, evenings, nights and weekends.

You will lead an interdisciplinary IPAC team, deliver IPAC education, coordinate vaccines, monitor compliance, manage outbreaks, and prepare written plans.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Infection prevention and control experience or certification is preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IPAC program and coordinate surveillance and audits.
• Provide IPAC education to staff, caregivers and residents.
• Coordinate immunization programs and vaccine reporting.
• Monitor compliance with public health directives and best practices.
• Convene outbreak teams and manage infection control actions.
