Radiant Care Tabor Manor in Niagara Region (Ontario) is seeking an IPAC Clinical Resource Lead to support IPAC compliance, lead clinical committees, conduct audits, coordinate vaccination programs and ensure staff education.

The role requires RN/RPN credentials, strong IPAC knowledge, and 3-5 years in long-term care with leadership skills. Montessori philosophy alignment and on-site duties expected.

Qualifications

IPAC Clinical Resource Lead

Job Description

Position Summary

Reporting to the IPAC Lead, the IPAC Clinical Resource Lead assists with the IPAC compliance, committee leadership, clinical audits & compliance, vaccination initiatives, mask fit testing, education coordination and ADOC backup support.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Must be Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses
• Completion of an RPN program of nursing (i.e., RN or RPN)
• Certified Mask Fit Tester or willingness to obtain certification
• 3-5 years of long-term care clinical experience
• Excellent knowledge and experience with adult education strategies/facilitation
• Knowledge and experience with interdisciplinary team members, Ministry documentation standards and home policies on assessment and care planning is preferred
• Excellent knowledge and experience with computerized clinical documentation systems.
• Leadership and mentoring experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices
• Experience with clinical auditing and quality improvement initiatives
• Strong organizational, educational, and communication skills
• Experience coordinating education and vaccination initiatives
• Demonstrate understanding and interest in the RAI program
• Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive professional image with the ability to motivate others
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking and care planning skills
• Clear aptitude for detail-orientated work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/ Sector Screening (VPS)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Committee Support
  o Assist in leading and coordinating clinical committees and interdisciplinary meetings
  o Support action planning and follow-up related to quality improvement initiatives
  o Participating in policy review and implementation activities
• Clinical Audits & Compliance
  o Complete and support audits on behalf of the DOC and ADOCs
  o Monitor compliance with clinical standards, documentation, and regulatory requirements
  o Assist with preparation for inspections and accreditation activities
• Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC)
  o Provide ongoing IPAC support throughout the organization alongside IPAC Lead
  o Assist with outbreak preparedness and response activities
  o Promote best practices related to infection prevention and resident safety
• Vaccination Coordination
  o Coordinate resident and staff vaccination programs in coordination with IPAC Lead
  o Support vaccine clinics and documentation requirements
  o Monitor vaccine compliance and reporting requirements
• Mask Fit Testing
  o Coordinate and conduct mask fit testing for staff
  o Maintain testing schedules and records
  o Ensure organizational compliance with health and safety requirements
• Education Coordination
  o Assist in planning, organizing, and delivering clinical education programs
  o Coordinate orientation and ongoing training initiatives
  o Support competency assessments and professional development activities
• ADOC Backup Support
  o Provide operational and clinical support in the absence of the ADOC.
  o Assist with staffing coordination and clinical decision-making
  o Support resident care initiatives and clinical leadership functions
• Promote resident-centered care consistent with Radiant Care's Montessori Philosophy of Care.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure ethical, legal, professional, organizational, and legislative requirements are met.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, standards, Collective Agreement requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Participate in annual goal setting and initiatives aligned with Radiant Care's Strategic Plan and perform other duties as assigned.
• Rotational On-Call responsibilities are required.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
