Job summary

Capital Power Corporation is seeking an Investor Relations Summer Student to support market and peer analysis, contribute to the quarterly earnings cycle, and help communicate how Capital Power creates value for investors.

You'll work with experienced professionals on projects that inform key business decisions. You must be enrolled in a related degree and have strong analytical, written, and Excel/PowerPoint skills, with eligibility to work in Canada.

Your Opportunity

One Temporary Full-Time Position Commencing May 2027. As an Investor Relations Summer Student, you'll help to communicate how Capital Power creates value for our investors. You'll build the market and peer analysis that shapes our investor messaging, contribute to the quarterly earnings cycle, and see first-hand how a publicly traded power producer tells its story to capital markets. You'll work alongside experienced professionals on projects that inform key business decisions.

What You'll Do:

• Research and analyze market, competitor, and industry trends, and translate complex data into clear insights.
• Build and maintain peer-tracking analysis - monitoring competitor investor presentations, earnings calls, and messaging.
• Support the quarterly earnings cycle, including data updates, collection, and analysis for press releases and investor presentations.
• Assist with preparation of materials for investor and analyst engagement, including conference preparation, investor profiles, and briefing documents.
• Maintain the investor meeting record, tracking trends, questions, and feedback from the investment community.

What You’ll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Interest in corporate strategy, finance, capital markets, or the energy sector.
