Job summary

Ventum Financial Corp. is a leading Canadian-owned capital markets firm seeking Investment Banking Analysts to join lean, transaction-focused teams. You will perform financial modelling, industry research and assist in client presentations, gaining exposure to equity offerings, debt financings and M&A advisory.

The role involves financial analysis, preparing pitches, and collaborating with senior bankers and clients. Toronto-based, full-time position within Ventum’s Investment Banking Group.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in finance.
• Minimum of one-year of work experience in a capital markets role, preferably investment banking.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.
• Exceptional quantitative skills, with a solid understanding of financial valuation methods.
• Exceptional financial modelling skills.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ and FactSet.
• Superior oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial modelling, various financial and strategic analyses, discounted cash flow analysis, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis and other industry specific analyses as required.
• Analyze financial statements and perform other qualitative and quantitative analysis as required.
• Monitoring and perform research on capital markets and industry trends.
• Constructing detailed financials models and industry databases.
• Assist in the preparation of extensive written documents including pitches, proposals, management presentations and confidential information memoranda.
• Participate in client calls and meetings.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Investment Banking Analysts at Ventum Capital Markets are integral members of the Investment Banking Group, joining lean and dedicated transaction teams, which provide capital raising and financial advisory services to the firm’s clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include financial analysis and modeling, company and industry research, development of client presentations, and interacting with senior bankers and clients. Our analysts work in a generalist capacity gaining valuable exposure to both a wide array of industries, as well as diverse products ranging from equity offerings, debt financings, and M&A advisory.
