Job summary

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is seeking an Associate to join the Services Group within Private Capital in Toronto. You will evaluate investment opportunities, execute transactions, conduct sector research, and support portfolio company management as part of a North American focus.

You’ll work with deal professionals on thesis development, platform acquisitions, and value creation planning, engaging with management teams, bankers, and boards.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2 years of related work experience (investment banking preferred, PE/MA advisory/management consulting may be considered)
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in business/finance/accounting/investment analysis, or equivalent experience
• Experience building financial models (LBO, DCF, etc.) from the ground up to aid in valuation and financing decisions
• Experience evaluating companies, transactions, or investment themes in industrials or business services is an asset
• Very strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to perform in-depth, creative analysis
• Comfort using data and AI-enabled tools to support research, diligence and portfolio work
• Deep understanding of fundamental investment analysis; experience in the investment process including due diligence and debt financing
• Ability to quickly grasp the economic characteristics and trends of the target sector
• Excellent oral and written communication with solid presentation skills
• Collaborative teammate with strong interpersonal skills and integrity
• Ability to meet tight timelines in a complex, demanding environment
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new investments and determine whether the company is an attractive opportunity, including industry and company research, due diligence, and preparing internal recommendations
• Support post-transaction involvement with the business, including board interactions and value-creation initiatives
• Develop and refresh sub-sector investment theses through deep dives, market mapping, primary research, and diligence themes
